Today the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) handed over a cheque of $4,000 towards the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund to the Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General, Mr Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

The Attorney General said that while a large number of people were affected by the floods, rehabilitation works is still continuing in most of these parts.

“Government is grateful for the generosity displayed by those who made donations in cash and kind and have given their support,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

The SPC’s Deputy Director General Fekita Utoikamanu said the donation is from the staff and management of SPC.

“The Land Resources Division of SPC had earlier donated $50,000 to support the purchase of plants and seedlings however, this donation of $4,000 is from the support of staff,” Ms Utoikamanu told the Attorney General.
