OBEDIENCE REINFORCES DISCIPLINE IN YOUTH: COKANASIGA

Five Hundred and thirty two student cadets of Laucala Bay Secondary School displayed a spectacular Cadet Passing out Parade this week at the National Stadium Car Park.

Chief Guest and Minister of Defence Joketani Cokanasiga commended the excellent precision of the school’s march parade.

“The hours of training and commitment shown today is based on obedience and of course self discipline,” Cokanasiga said.

He said obedience is a value that young people today required.

“Team work, obedience to those in authority and how one reacts to a given command are some of the lessons that our young adults are ignoring today, “he said.

“May I also urge you all to learn the value of loyalty, value of truth and cement these values with spiritual empowerment,” he said.

The Defence minister reiterated that the future of Fiji is in the lives of our youths today.

“If you choose to positively empower your character, you are ensuring Fiji of a great future.”

Cokanasiga also thanked the officers from the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces officers and teachers of Laucala Bay Secondary School for sacrificing a lot of their time to make the cadet parade a success.
